Teacher’s Day: Celebrating the Impact and The Essential Role of Teachers in Shaping Our Future 

‘’A good teacher is a great sculptor. Even in the dullest of rocks, he creates masterpieces with his skill and passion. A good teacher is instrumental in shaping an individual’s academic and personal life. A good teacher is that ray of hope that guides his students toward success’’

Recognizing the valiant efforts put forward by such gifted and passionate teachers, we at Parwaaz wish every one of you a very happy teachers’ day. 

We, Project Parwaaz as an initiative to provide virtual teaching to school children in J&K and Ladakh have focused extensively on providing quality education to our students through well-abled and skilled volunteers who are passionate change makers in today’s world.  

What specific challenges do the disadvantaged children face in accessing quality education, and how does Project Parwaaz address these challenges? 

 These children have little to no access to proper education due to varying factors like financial issues in the family, lack of education among other family members, regional issues, etc. For reaching out to such children we mostly rely on teachers/principals from a school or a local leader such as the village Sarpanch. Even at schools, there’s a surge of children but usually, large class sizes and fewer teachers to comply make the quality of studies at school ineffective and less interesting, because often children do not have much time to deliberate, solve doubts or have much stimulation or understanding of what they study at school. This adversely affects their academic life and may lead to academic degeneration. We aim to fight these barriers and provide good quality education with room for the creative and intellectual development of our students. 

       We have also been contacted by several schools where classes have been difficult to conduct due to various regional issues, lockdowns, etc. Once we start teaching a student, other children in their family, school, or neighborhood usually also request to study as they are inspired to learn more.. This further enhances our enthusiasm and our commitment to the cause. 

How does Project Parwaaz ensure that the virtual teaching provided is effective and engaging for the students? 

 Remotely teaching students can be a taxing task for a teacher but here at Parwaaz, teachers find a creative way to interact with their students and consistently stay in touch with them and their families to build a supportive environment towards their education. By providing classes virtually we can function efficiently concerning the preferred timing of the student and our volunteer. Such an interaction helps to establish a rapport and improves the concentration of the student. As our goal is always alongside quality, we are determined never to overlook these factors. 

The right volunteer for the right job has always been our motto. Understanding the preferences of a student and providing him with the right teacher is crucial. This helps in providing a high-quality mode of communication and leads to a good learning environment. Thus, promoting a harmonious student-teacher duo. 

Rather than focusing only on providing subject-based lectures we extensively focus on involving creative and intellectual development through games and holistic development of the student through our virtual events.  In the teaching methodology we follow there is always room for fun and creativity. We understand that Parental support is a must for the development of the child. Through demanding the involvement of parents at times we aim to create a positive relationship with them. This helps the parents encourage their child and also to understand the importance of having their ward educated. 

Highlights of the Achievements and Initiatives of Parwaaz and its hardworking Teachers/Volunteers 2023-24!

 Our journey was challenging, but we continually improved to deliver the best, quality education without compromise. Over time we were able to extend our arms of hope to a large group of disadvantaged children and have considerably helped them to improve their academics. 

 Because the influence of good education can never be erased!

– Our school visits since 2020 in which we have identified and adopted deserving children and have provided them with access to quality education 

– Our short film collaboration with Ambuja Cement in 2024 has helped us earn recognition and extend our helping hand to more students.  

– Stationary donations to schools with disadvantaged students and showed our commitment to the causes 

– Programs and activities for the mental stimulation of the child like interactive quizzes, and creative art competitions where we urged the importance of cognitive and creative learning methods in academics.  

–  Regular student performance check and help the teachers with a detailed analysis of scopes for improvement   

– Provide 1 on 1 personalized class for each student done by volunteers virtually or manually. This helps to stimulate a proper student-teacher environment. 

 – Parent involvement is a necessity and thus we focus extensively on empowering parents by educating their children and providing support free of cost. we also organize meetings with parents and request their involvement in some academic activities to ensure their support.  

 we focus on setting strong foundations for the academic journey of these children while improving their social, cognitive, and intellectual skills and ensuring fluency in the English language so they can excel in all subjects and improve comprehension capabilities. 

Our accomplishments are a direct result of the dedication and hard work of our team and supporters. As we celebrate this teacher’s day, we are both delighted and more committed to expand our impact and to tackle future challenges with innovative solutions and strategic goals. The road ahead is brimming with opportunities to advance our mission and enhance our contributions to the community by providing high quality education and shaping our future generation. We aim to ensure that our successes pave the way for continued progress and growth.
